"Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd

Here's to hoping Prince Vicodin does his job:

Hello.
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone home?

Come on, now.
I hear you're feeling down.
Well I can ease your pain,
Get you on your feet again.

Relax.
I need some information first.
Just the basic facts:
Can you show me where it hurts?

There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're sayin'.
When I was a child I had a fever.
My hands felt just like two balloons.
Now I got that feeling once again.
I can't explain, you would not understand.
This is not how I am.
I have become comfortably numb.

Ok.
Just a little pinprick.
There'll be no more --Aaaaaahhhhh!
But you may feel a little sick.

Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working. Good.
That'll keep you going for the show.
Come on it's time to go.

There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're sayin'.
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse,
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone.
I cannot put my finger on it now.
The child is grown, the dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb.

I'm glad my comment made a little sense. I know your struggle very well. A lot of mothers do. Prince Vicodin was a disappointment. The pain from the shingles was stronger, and I woke up with a headache. Plain old advil works better. Effexor saved my life, but I was seriously depressed. I do think too many people take antidepressants for the wrong reasons.

Not that I'm trying to make light of the situation here, but I cannot hear this song without thinking of The Simpsons episode where Homer is licking toads and Marge asks, "Hello, is there anybody in there?"

Of course, I can apply The Simpsons to anything.

For some odd reason the new comments aren't showing up here. I got them by email though.

Anyway, that's what makes the Simpsons so great!

"Lets Go Get Stoned" by Ray Charles

Let's go get stoned
Let's go get stoned
you now my baby she wont let me in
i Got a few pennies,i go bought my self a bottle of gin
and then i go on call buddy on the telephone and say
Let's go get stoned
(now listen)

Let's go get stoned
Let's go get stoned
you now i worked so hard all day long
everything i try to do seems to always to turn out wrong
thats why i wanna stop by on my way home and say

Lets go get stoned

I am a recent convert to anti-depressants. I only took them for two months, but it was nothing like what I thought. I think on the medical spectrum, I am more holistic than christian science. However it would be foolish to disregard all western medicine.

Sorry Gina If it seemed like I didn't "get" you. I actually did but my biases interfeered. You see, my ex-wife left because she was feeling stifled by motherhood. I realize that she is a bad person with a bad reaction, and you are a good person. There is no compairison. It's just like when Luke went to face Vader in Episode five. Yoda and Obi-Wan cautioned Luke against a confrontation. They thought Vader was evil. Luke overcame what everyones gut feeling was and went to meet the "good in Vader". His reward was unification with his father. Like Luke, I must realize that....

ok that was a bad metaphor...I just thought. It would be funny to go back to Star Wars.

oh how about this, Like Yoda I must seperate the "Dark Side" that I see in people and clouds of my own biases.

Anyways I'm really high at work so basically I'm getting paid (well) to sit here stoned and preach to you ladies. Ain't life grand!
