Strawberry Letter 23 by the Brothers Johnson

Just heard this for the first time in many years:

Hello, my love
I heard a kiss from you
Red magic satin playing near, too

All through the morning rain
I gaze - the sun doesn't shine -
Rainbows and waterfalls run through my mind

In the garden - I see west
Purple shower, bells and tea
Orange birds and river cousins dressed in green

Pretty music I hear - so happy
And loud - blue flower echo
From a cherry cloud

Feel sunshine sparkle pink and blue
Playgrounds will laugh
if you try to ask
Is it cool?, is it cool?

If you arrive and don't see me
I'm going to be with my baby
I am free - flying in her arms, over the sea

Stained window, yellow candy screen
See speakers of kite - with velvet roses diggin' freedom flight

A present from you - Strawberry letter 22
The music plays, I sit in for a few

Ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...

A present from you - Strawberry letter 22
The music plays, I sit in for a few

Ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...

Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer by Cledus T. Judd

Requested by the evil DHammett:

Well a couple of good friends of mine
Elmo and Patsy
Wrote me and said they'd written the perfect country Christmas comedy song.

I said "No you didn't. You didn't mention nothing about...... ... ...
Well...yeah you pretty much got it all. I mean Grandma and of course the
family and getting drunk and run over by heavy machinery and..."

Well since I needed the money I felt obliged to include it on this record.

And it goes a little something like this:

Grandma got runned over by a reindeer
Walking home from our house Christmas Eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
But as for me and Grandpa, we believe.

She'd been drinkin' too much eggnog,
And we'd begged her not to go.
But she'd left her medication,
So she stumbled out the door into the snow.

When they found her Christmas mornin',
At the scene of the attack,
There were hoof prints on her forehead,
And incriminatin' Claus marks on her back.

R: Grandma got runned over by a reindeer
Walking home from our house Christmas Eve.
(On her way home)
You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
(Say there's no Santa)
But as for me and Grandpa, we believe.
(Lord, we believe)

Now we're all so proud of Grandma,
He's been takin' this so well.
See him in there watchin' football,
Drinkin beer and playin' cards with cousin Belle.

It's not Christmas without Grandma.
All the family's dressed in black.
And we just can't help but wonder:
Should we open up her gifts or send them back?

R: Grandma got runned over by a reindeer
Walking home from our house Christmas Eve.
(Midnight before Christmas)
You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
(Say there's no Santa)
But as for me and Grandpa, we believe.
(Lord, we believe)

Now the goose is on the table
And the pudding made of fig.
And a blue and silver candle
That would have just matched the hair in grandma's wig.

I've warned all my friends and neighbors.
"Better watch out for yourselves.
They should never give a license,
To a man who drives a sleigh and plays with elves."

R: Grandma got runned over by a reindeer
Walking home from our house Christmas Eve.
(Minding her own business)
You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
(What do you mean there's no Santa?)
But as for me and Grandpa, we believe.
(Lord, we believe)

Oh
As for me and Grandpa, we believe.
(We believe in Santa Claus.)

"Sunshine of Your Love" by Cream

Requested (12/2005) by kristi:

It's getting near dawn,
When lights close their tired eyes.
I'll soon be with you my love,
To give you my dawn surprise.
I'll be with you darling soon,
I'll be with you when the stars start falling.

I've been waiting so long
To be where I'm going
In the sunshine of your love.

I'm with you my love,
The light's shining through on you.
Yes, I'm with you my love,
It's the morning and just we two.
I'll stay with you darling now,
I'll stay with you till my seas are dried up.

I've been waiting so long
To be where I'm going
In the sunshine of your love.

I'm with you my love,
The light's shining through on you.
Yes, I'm with you my love,
It's the morning and just we two.
I'll stay with you darling now,
I'll stay with you till my seas are dried up.

I've been waiting so long
I've been waiting so long
I've been waiting so long
To be where I'm going
In the sunshine of your love.

"Miracles" by Jefferson Starship

If only you believe like I believe, baby (like I believe)
We’d get by
If only you believe in miracles, baby (in miracles)
So would I
If only you believe like I believe, baby (like I believe)
We’d get by
If only you believe in miracles, baby (in miracles)
So would I

I might have to move heaven and earth to prove
It to you, baby
So we’re makin’ love and you feel the power
And I feel the power
Then there’s really nothing that we can’t do (you know we could)
If we wanted to, baby (you know we could)
We could exist on the stars
It’d be so easy

Baby, all we gotta do
Is get a little faith in you
Oh, I’ve been so many places
I’ve seen some things (yes, I have)
I know, love is the answer (yes, it is)
Keeps holding this world together
Ain’t nothing better
Ain’t nothing better
And all the answers to our prayers
Hell, it’s the same everywheres, baby
Nothing ever breaks up the heart
Only tears give you away (ain't it a shame now)

Then you’re right where I found ya
With my arms around ya
Oh baby, baby, baby, love is a magic word, yeah
Few ever find in a lifetime
But from that very first look in your eyes
I knew you and I had but one heart
Only our bodies were apart (it's makin' me crazy)
That was so easy, so easy (oh, baby)
I had a taste of the real world (just a drop of it)
When I went down on you, girl (never stop it)

If only you believe like I believe, baby (like I believe)
We’d get by
If only you believe in miracles, baby (believe in miracles)
So would I
If only you believe like I believe, baby (like I believe)
We’d get by
If only you believe in miracles, baby (believe in miracles)
So would I

I can hear windmills and rainbows
Whenever you’re talkin’ to me (never say never)
I feel like swirling and dancin’ (whenever)
Whenever you’re walking with me (walking with me)
You ripple like a river when I touch you (when I touch you)
When I pluck your body like a string
When I start dancin’ inside ya (whoa baby)
Oh baby, you make me wanna sing (a love song)
Yeah, baby, baby, baby, baby (a love song)

Oh yeah, all right
Baby, we’re sure doin’ it tonight
Everytime you come by, let me try (come on by)
Pretty, please with sugar on it
That’s how I like it
I can’t even believe it with you
It’s like having every dream I ever wanted
Come true (dream of a lifetime)
I picked up your vibes
You know it opened my eyes
But I’m still dreamin’ yeah
And you’re right where I found ya
With my arms around ya.

Refrain (2x)
